Retiring Products Reminder

Today's post is a reminder for the Retiring Products.

I hope you've had a chance to look at what Stampin' Up! is retiring to make room for some fabulous new products. I've been keeping an eye on the list and I'm happy to say that while some items went quickly, there are still some great items available.

One example is the Jar of Love Photopolymer Bundle.  While both the Jar of Love stamp set and the Everyday Jars Framelits will still be available from 1st June, the bundle won't.  The same applies to the Sunshine Wishes Bundle. What does that mean for you?  Well, you won't be able get the benefit of the 10% discount on both products.

I didn't think I wanted this bundle, but after attending Chloe Evans (www.chloscraftcloset.blogspot.com.au) card class last week and making these three cards using this bundle I'm reconsidering.  Chloe has the knack of showing us ways to use products we didn't originally like or want.  I really like the flowers - they remind me of a kit I purchased last year.  

These cards also use some items from other stamp sets and dies, but everything is listed.  The Just Add Text stamp set is available from 1st June.  It's already on my Wish List.

May Forgotten Friday

Hello,

Today I have two frames made using some retired butterflies.

I started by stamping the Swallowtail on some Whisper White card stock, then, using my Big Shot, embossed it with the Brick Wall embossing folder (It's a bit hard to see though).  I then added some smaller butterflies to reduce some of the white space, and a few embellishments and Wink of Stella for the finishing touches.

Soft Sayings Card Kit

Hello,

One of the great new products in the 2017-18 catalogue available from June 2017 is the Soft Sayings Card Kit.  I was able to purchase it early and yesterday I made up 10 cards.  The set comes with nearly everything you'll need to make 20 cards - 2 each of the 10 designs.  I have used a couple of sentiments from other stamp sets, just to try them out.

I always try to have a kit on hand.  They are so quick to make, and ideal for a class if there are participants who've not stamped previously.  I also know someone who purchases them as gifts for their grandchildren.

Enough rambling, here's cards.  I hope you like them.

The colours are the new In Colours.  I didn't think I'd like them, but the more I see them, the more I do.

Eastern Palace Early Release

I know many of you are waiting for the release of the 2017-18 catalogue, and are probably thinking "it'd be great if I could get my hands on something sooner that 1st June".

Happy Birthday - Window Shopping

Happy Wednesday.

I've been so preoccupied the last few weeks preparing for a class I'm holding this Sunday to show some ladies how to make a double z fold Christmas card that I overlooked making a card for a friend's birthday a few days ago....oops 😟.  Fortunately, we're not seeing her until Saturday, and I did phone her to wish her a happy birthday, so I'm off the hook a bit.

Because the Window Shopping bundle is one of my favourites, it was my first choice for her card. This set has some great sentiments and patterns, with dies that create gift boxes and party favours.  I embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder, after inking the stamp with Versamark then Crumb Cake ink.

Something else I've just realised is that if I'm making one card, I might as well make two (yep I'm a slow learner)! I now have a spare one for later in the year.
