Baptism & 1st Birthday Cards

Hi, welcome back.

Yesterday was my grandson's baptism and 1st birthday celebrations, so I can now post photos of the cards I made.

Inspiration for these cards came from Pinterest.  Thanks to Fiona Bradley (justspiffing.blogspot.com) and Carol Payne (www.carolpaynestamps.com) for your pins.

For the Baptism card, I started with the standard size Whisper White card.  I adhered the window sheet to the two smaller pieces of Whisper White cardstock after I embossed the cross, then mounted it to the Whisper White card base.  You might ask "Why the Pearl Jewels?" Well it's to cover Emerald Envy ink marks, of course!
The Blessed by God stamp set has retired, but because I don't have a big need for these types of cards, I have kept it.

At first I wasn't happy with it, but after I've seen it several times, I think it turned out well.

For the Birthday card, I used the standard size card in Pacific Point.  The balloons and number are all mounted.  I really like how the Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango go with the Basic Grey of the Schoolhouse DSP.
Sadly the Zoo Babies stampset, the Express Yourself stampset used for the 'celebrate' sentiment and the Schoolhouse Designer Series Paper are retired.

Baptism & 1st Birthday Invitation

Hi.

I've been busy the last few months making invitations for my grandson's combined Baptism and 1st birthday celebrations.  I can now show you the end result.  I've masked the wording due to its personal nature, which I'm sure you will understand.

This design is a Joy Fold card, which is 2 cards interlocking to form one card.  Here are the measurements:

LARGE CARD

Base card cut - 8 1/4 " x 4 1/4" then score 3"

DSP (inside) - 5" x 4"

DSP (outside) - 2 3/4" x 4"

Mat for cross - 2 3/4" x 4"

SMALL CARD

Base card cut - 7 3/4" x 3" scored at 3 7/8"

Mats for You're Invited, Wording and Dinasour - cut 4 3/4" x 3 1/4"

It's not clear from the picture, but I scored the front to form a border, then added the bakers twine. The cross and Baptism sentiment are not from Stampin' Up!, but here are all the other products I used. Unfortunately, the Little Numbers and the You're Invited sentiment is part of a retired set.

Back from Holidays

Welcome back.

We've arrived back from our cruise to Singapore, unpack and settled back into life here in Port Macquarie.  It's been difficult getting my mojo back...I've just spent a couple of hours searching for inspiration for a baptism card and a 1st birthday card, which I need to finish by Friday.  I seem to spend more time looking than creating, but I found some great ideas on Pinterest.

I've also started thinking about Christmas and have some ideas for some great things, which I'll be showcasing at my Sip and Stamp afternoon on November 20th.

Check back after Sunday 6th for the baptism and birthday cards I've made for my grandson.

Thinking of You - Floral Phrases

Hello,

I'm just about to go on holidays, but sadly had the need to make a sympathy card today.

I wanted something a little different, so decided to use the Floral Phrases stamp set and co-ordinating Detailed Floral Thinlits, which is very popular at the moment.  There are lots of ideas shown in the current Stampin' Up! catalogue and on pinterest using this set and Night of Navy cardstock, but I decided to try Emerald Envy.

I love this card.  I'm sure the person I'm sending the card to will think so too.

I added a couple of rhinestones and stamped the flower at the top of the inside to finish it off.  I like the 'thinking of you' sentiment from the Sheltering Tree stampset and thought it was appropriate for this card.
