Happy 60th Birthday Sister

A couple of weeks ago, my sister turned the big 6-Oh.  We had a couple of surprises in store for her - my cousin arrived a couple of days prior and my brother arrived the day before.  We had a great lunch in a restaurant here in Port Macquarie before taking 'the surprises' to the airport to fly back to Sydney.  I think she had an enjoyable few days.

I made three cards for her - one from my hubby and me, one from my brother, and one from our 90 year old mother.  I even came up with some witty sentiments, but thought it best not to share those. Thanks Melissa Davies, and Rose Packer for pinning your projects.

The products used for cards from left to right are detailed below.  Unfortunately, some of the products are retired, but I have included them at the end of each card product for inspiration.  For example, the Marbled background stamp could be used in place of the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper.  I didn't have the Layering framelits, so I improvised by using the retired Starburst framelits.  The Lace Doilies are also retired, but Stampin' Up! does have some Delicate White Doilies (Item No. 141701) which will work well with the Label Me Pretty set.

Happy Birthday - Butterflies Thinlits & Label me Pretty

Goodness me.  It's been 4 weeks since I've posted!  As I mentioned in September, I've struggled getting my mojo back after my holiday.  I'm better organised now, despite having a few things on - preparing for classes, my sister's '0' birthday and my husband's few days in hospital following surgery (he's now recuperating at home but still can't drive), and a couple of requests from a friend.

Here's the birthday cards I made for my friend's two sisters-in-law, one of which was inspired from scrappinandstampiningj.blogspot.com, the other from Melissa Davies (rubberfunatics.blogspot.com).  Some of the items I used have been retired unfortunately, but I've listed details of both for inspiration.

A couple of notes:  Wondering what the envelope punch board was used for?  Well, I used it to round the corners on the butterfly card.  I didn't have the current Delicate White Doilies (Item no 141701), so I used one of the retired Lace doilies.  The Starburst Framelits were used to improvise because I didn't have any scallop shapes to back the label.
