Happy Birthday - Butterflies Thinlits & Label me Pretty

Goodness me.  It's been 4 weeks since I've posted!  As I mentioned in September, I've struggled getting my mojo back after my holiday.  I'm better organised now, despite having a few things on - preparing for classes, my sister's '0' birthday and my husband's few days in hospital following surgery (he's now recuperating at home but still can't drive), and a couple of requests from a friend.

Here's the birthday cards I made for my friend's two sisters-in-law, one of which was inspired from scrappinandstampiningj.blogspot.com, the other from Melissa Davies (rubberfunatics.blogspot.com).  Some of the items I used have been retired unfortunately, but I've listed details of both for inspiration.

A couple of notes:  Wondering what the envelope punch board was used for?  Well, I used it to round the corners on the butterfly card.  I didn't have the current Delicate White Doilies (Item no 141701), so I used one of the retired Lace doilies.  The Starburst Framelits were used to improvise because I didn't have any scallop shapes to back the label.

September Forgotten Friday

Hello and welcome to my September Forgotten Friday post.  It hasn't been easy getting my mojo back after being away, but this week I've managed to make a couple of cards to use up some old Designer Series Paper.

I saw this in pinterest some time ago, but didn't ever get around to making it.  My apologies, but I don't have the creators details - sorry if you know who it was.  I wasn't thinking straight when I cut the base and because the DSP was an off-cut I had to cut the base down to make a 4" x 4" card....oops not my usual size.

I didn't have any Rich Razzleberry ink, so I used the retired Blackberry Bliss stamped off for the sentiment.  I think it's close enough.  The embellishments are not from Stampin' Up! and I've been hoarding them too.

90th Birthday Twist & Pop Card

Hello,  I've been back from the USA for nearly 3 weeks and am trying to catch up with my blog.

Here's a twist & Pop card I made for my mum who is celebrated her 90th birthday on the day we left in July.  I really love the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper, and am sad it and the embellishments have retired. The Mum is from the retired For My Family stamp set.
I must say a big thank you to Amanda Bates (thecraftspa.blogspot.com) for her instructions and post on her Mother's Day Twist & Pop card.  I used the same paper, but changed it slightly.

July Forgotten Friday

Welcome to July's Forgotten Friday.  This month I'm showcasing the recently retired Starburst Sayings stamp set and Starburst Framelits.

While I didn't use it often I liked the set and am deciding whether to keep it 😕

For a change I used Tangerine Tango, with Early Espresso and Sahara Sand then took myself out of my comfort zone and angled the layers.  That's so hard for someone who likes everything straight and even distances 😊
The numbers are also from a retired set called Memorable Moments with Gorgeous Grunge to add some dimension.   The dots on the Sahara Sand mat were added using a sponge dauber.

Updated Blog Layout

Hi everyone.  Have you ever had one of those days or months when everything seems to go wrong?

The last few days have been like that for me.  Firstly, we're heading away on holidays very shortly, and I'm running out of time to make cards for all my family members and friends having birthdays this month aargh.
And today, my blog decided to forget what it looks like, so after wasting too much time trying to reinstall it, I've changed it to something completely different. 😊

My feeling is that it sensed I wanted to update it - something I have been discussing for a month or so now.

So, welcome to my new (interim) look blog.  Please bear with me because I have some great ideas.
